Case Law and IP Commentary: Searching for the Law

This morning I had to check out some cases on tactile trademarks. Since I have a Westlaw UK IP subscription, that was not a problem for me. Do you want one too?

The subscription is available to a solo solicitor, patent or trademark attorney or legal consultant but not a practising barrister. Its OK if you employ some support staff or even work with a partner but if the subscriber has more than 3 fee earning employees its not solo.

We are a very friendly group and are hoping to organise a WEBEX training session so our Westlaw representative can show you how to get the most our of the service and get just as much enjoyment from leaving through Kerly or the CIPA Black Book online as you do from making a trip to the library.

I have been using Westlaw on my iPad - very satisfactory. Great excuse to buy yourself one.

  1. What is this subscription of which you speak? (the link 'representative' doesn't work, for me at least).

  2. Dear Tim

The link would take you to an email to our Westalw sales representative who will be happy to let you have a trial. If you are up North there is likely to be a training session in York in the Autumn too

  3. pls give hint of the date of training?any training to held in london?

  4. Good Afternoon,

Having seen a few comments on the blog, I thought I would now make an entry.

Tim, our Westlaw subscription is designed to ensure you have one reilable source for case reports, legislation, journals and print commentary, including CIPA. 2 week free trials can be set up, with one site demostrations arranged to show the many features to the service. CPD training is offered once subscribed. I am, on the back of the training day in York which is CPD accredited and lunch provided, keen to try and arrange a London IP training day at a venue that suits people, early days yet as would need suitable office space...any ideas!!?
